Diamond Jubilee Celebration at Cropton – June 4th 2012
Cropton village celebrated Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee on June 4th 2012. To mark the occasion a Mountain Ash tree was planted at the top of the village by Joyce Wright. (Thank you to Brian Wright for the photographs).
Dick Feaster introduced the proceedings and gave a talk about the previous planting of commeorative trees in the village. Ken Hall kindly dug the hole for the tree and Canon Pearce gave a short blessing to the assembled crowd.

Joyce Wright planted the Mountain Ash tree.

Blackie the Dog attended and attracted a lot of attention.

After the ceremony everyone seemed to be having a good chat.

The weather was very kind and there was an excellent turn out for the tree planting.
Here we have a few onlookers – waiting for the planting ceremony to begin.
Afterwards a lovely tea was served in the village hall by the ladies of Cropton. Please view photos of the tea party.
